Italy Names Squad for Pre-Euro Tournament in Poland
Italy's women's team heads to Koszalin, Poland, for a final pre-Euro tournament against France, Ukraine, and the hosts.

Italy's women's national volleyball team will travel to Koszalin, Poland, for an international preparation tournament from August 11 to 13, their final tune-up before the start of the European Championship. The team departs Monday, August 10, from Linate Airport, flying to Gdańsk before continuing to Koszalin, where they will hold an evening training session on arrival.
In Koszalin, coach Julio Velasco's squad will face France, Ukraine, and hosts Poland. The schedule includes France vs. Italy and Poland vs. Ukraine on August 11, Ukraine vs. Italy and Poland vs. France on August 12, and Poland vs. Italy and Ukraine vs. France on August 13.
Velasco has called up 14 players for the trip: setters Carlotta Cambi and Alessia Orro; outside hitters Stella Nervini, Myriam Sylla, Loveth Omoruyi, and Gaia Giovannini; middle blockers Denise Meli, captain Anna Danesi, Linda Nwakalor, and Sarah Fahr; opposites Paola Egonu and Ekaterina Antropova; and liberos Ilaria Spirito and Eleonora Fersino.
The coaching staff includes head coach Julio Velasco, assistant coaches Massimo Barbolini and Juan Manuel Cichello, athletic trainer Pietro Muneratti, scout Massimiliano Taglioli, team doctor Monica Fabbri, physiotherapists Francesco Bettalico and Antonella Boschi, and team manager Marcello Capucchio.
