Poland Recover to Beat France in Four Sets
Poland recovered from losing the opening set to defeat France 3–1 and secure their place in the 2026 VNL Finals.
Poland recovered from a difficult opening set to defeat France 3–1 in the 2026 Volleyball Nations League in Chicago.
France controlled the start of the match with strong blocking and serving. The Olympic champions built a large advantage and took the first set 25–17.
Poland improved their reception and attacking efficiency in the second set. Kamil Semeniuk helped change the momentum, while Bartłomiej Bołądź provided important points as Nikola Grbić’s team levelled the match 25–22.
The Polish team remained composed during a close third set and won it 25–21. They then took early control of the fourth, building a seven-point advantage before completing the comeback 25–18.
Bołądź led all scorers with 18 points. Wilfredo León added 13, while Semeniuk contributed 12. Stephen Boyer was France’s leading scorer with 14 points.
The victory secured Poland’s place in the VNL Finals and kept them in contention for a high position in the preliminary standings.
