Türkiye Make History With First VNL Finals Qualification
Türkiye defeated Iran 3–1 in Belgrade to qualify for the men’s VNL Finals for the first time in national team history.
Türkiye reached the men’s Volleyball Nations League Finals for the first time after defeating Iran 3–1 in Belgrade.
Iran won the opening set, but Türkiye responded to complete a 17–25, 25–22, 25–16, 25–19 comeback victory at Belgrade Arena.
The match lasted 111 minutes. After levelling the contest in the second set, Türkiye took control and won the final two sets comfortably.
The result gave Türkiye their eighth victory of the 2026 preliminary phase. They completed the round with 22 points and secured a place among the eight teams competing in the knockout stage.
The qualification represents an important milestone for the Turkish men’s national team, which had never previously reached the VNL Finals.
Türkiye will now travel to Ningbo, China, where the Finals are scheduled to take place from July 29 to August 2.
