Balaso Extends Contract With Lube Civitanova Through 2029

Libero Fabio Balaso has signed a contract extension with Cucine Lube Civitanova through 2029, the club announced. The move ends transfer speculation that had circulated during the past SuperLega season, ahead of what will be his ninth season with the club and with his previous four-year deal set to expire in 2027.

Balaso, 31, began his career with hometown club Padova in the A2 and SuperLega divisions before joining Lube Volley in the 2018-19 season. Since then, he has won a Champions League title (2019), a Club World Championship (2019), three Italian Cups (2020, 2021, 2025), and three Scudetti (2019, 2021, 2022). With the Italian national team, he has claimed two World Championship golds (2022, 2025), a European Championship gold (2021), and gold at the 2018 Mediterranean Games.

Speaking about the renewal, Balaso said: "I am proud and honored to continue my story wearing the Cucine Lube Civitanova jersey. The trust the club continues to place in me was decisive for this renewal.
