Blengini Names 15 Players for Bulgaria's EuroVolley Prep
Bulgaria's national team begins EuroVolley 2026 preparations under Gianlorenzo Blengini, with friendlies against the Czech Republic and Serbia set for August.

Bulgaria's men's national volleyball team begins preparations for the European Championship, set to run from September 9 to 27. Head coach Gianlorenzo Blengini has called up 15 players for the first phase of training.
The preparation is split into two stages. The first phase runs until August 28 in Samokov, where Bulgaria will play two friendly matches against the Czech Republic on August 25 and 26. The second phase begins August 30 in Sofia, where Bulgaria will face Serbia in two matches on September 1 and 2.
The initial squad includes setters Simeon Nikolov and Stoil Palev; middle blockers Alex Grozdanov, Boris Nachev, Iliya Petkov, and Preslav Petkov; outside hitters Aleksandar Nikolov, Asparuh Asparuhov, Georgi Tatarov, Denislav Bardarov, Martin Atanasov, Rusi Zhelev, and Jasmin Velichkov; opposite Venislav Antov; and libero Damyan Kolev.
