DeFalco Powers USA Into VNL Finals
TJ DeFalco scored 18 points and served seven aces as USA swept Brazil to secure a place in the 2026 VNL Finals.
The United States secured their place in the 2026 Volleyball Nations League Finals with a 3–0 victory over Brazil in Chicago.
Playing in front of their home supporters, USA won 25–23, 25–19, 25–19 to record their eighth victory in ten preliminary-round matches. They reached 25 points and remained second in the standings.
TJ DeFalco produced an outstanding all-around performance and led the match with 18 points. The outside hitter recorded seven kills, seven aces and four blocks.
His seven aces were the fifth-highest total in VNL history and the best serving performance in a three-set match. Matt Anderson and Jake Hanes added 13 points each for the winners.
Darlan Souza led Brazil with 17 points, including 12 kills, four aces and one block. The defeat moved Brazil outside the qualification places, with six victories and 16 points.
Brazil will continue their push for a place in the Finals against defending champions Poland. USA will return to the court against Bulgaria.
