Galatasaray Daikin Signs Outside Hitter Merve Tanyel
Galatasaray Daikin signs Turkish outside hitter Merve Tanyel from İlbank ahead of the new Sultanlar Ligi season.
Galatasaray Daikin, a club in the Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi, has signed outside hitter Merve Tanyel as part of its new season transfer activities, the club announced on August 12.
Tanyel, born in 1995 and 177 cm tall, previously played in the youth systems of VakıfBank and Fenerbahçe before graduating from San Diego State University. Her professional club career has included spells with Fenerbahçe, Beylikdüzü Voleybol, Merinos, PTT Spor, Bahçelievler Belediyesi, and most recently İlbank, from which she now joins Galatasaray Daikin.
The signing is aimed at strengthening the club's domestic outside hitter rotation as Galatasaray continues to also pursue foreign outside hitter options for the new season.
