Simone Giannelli reached 102 career VNL kill blocks as Italy swept Argentina and moved into fifth place in the standings.
Simone Giannelli reached a major career milestone as Italy defeated Argentina 3–0 in the 2026 Volleyball Nations League in Osaka.
The Italian captain entered the match with 99 career kill blocks in the competition. He recorded his 100th during the opening set and added two more before the end of the match.
Giannelli finished the straight-set victory with three blocks and four attacking points. His total now stands at 102 VNL kill blocks, more than any other Italian player in the history of the competition.
