Halkbank Add Belgian Outside Hitter Sam Deroo
Belgian outside hitter Sam Deroo has joined Halkbank, bringing extensive experience from clubs in Belgium, Italy, Poland and Russia.
Halkbank have announced the signing of Belgian outside hitter Sam Deroo as they continue building their roster for the new season.
The 34-year-old is 203 centimetres tall and brings experience from several leading European championships. He has previously represented Knack Roeselare, Modena, Verona, ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Asseco Resovia.
Deroo has also played in Russia for Dynamo Moscow, Zenit Kazan and Lokomotiv Novosibirsk. His career includes spells with clubs competing at the highest level of domestic and European volleyball.
Halkbank confirmed the agreement through an official statement welcoming the Belgian international to Ankara. The Turkish club wished him a successful season in its blue and white colours.
The move adds an experienced option to Halkbank’s outside hitter position as the club prepares for its domestic and European campaigns. Deroo will begin the next chapter of his career in Türkiye after spending the previous season with Lokomotiv Novosibirsk.
