Las Palmas Named EuroVolley 2028 Women Co-Host
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will host a EuroVolley 2028 Women pool, bringing a senior European Volleyball Championship to Spain for the first time.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has been confirmed as a co-host city for the 2028 CEV Women’s European Volleyball Championship.
The Spanish city will stage one of the tournament’s pool groups. It will be the first time that Spain has hosted a senior European Volleyball Championship.
Spain will also receive automatic qualification as one of the host nations. Sweden, Slovenia, Hungary and Slovakia have already secured their places through the 2026 CEV European League.
The tournament will feature 24 national teams and will be organised across four countries, continuing the format introduced in 2019. Three additional co-hosts will be announced later.
The 2026 European champions will also qualify automatically for the 2028 tournament. Four more places will be awarded through the 2027 European League, while the remaining participants will be determined by the European ranking after the 2027 VNL and European League.
Las Palmas was selected partly because of the Canary Islands’ strong volleyball tradition and long connection with successful women’s clubs.
