Italy's Loveth Omoruyi suffers a serious knee injury in a friendly against Ukraine, requiring surgery and months of recovery.

Italy outside hitter Loveth Omoruyi suffered a serious left knee injury during the national team's friendly match against Ukraine in Koszalin, Poland, on the second day of the Agata Mróz-Olszewska Memorial tournament, her club Megabox Ondulati del Savio announced.
The club reported a complex knee trauma, including a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament, a partial tear of the lateral collateral ligament and medial meniscus, and bone trauma to the femoral condyle. Omoruyi will require surgery, with recovery expected to take several months.
Club president Angeli expressed the team's sadness over the injury: "We are deeply saddened by the injury suffered by our Loveth, a golden girl who had a superb season in her debut with our jersey and was earning her place with the national team at the European Championship through her performances on the court.
