Perugia Confirms Participation in Club World Championship
Italian champions Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia confirm their participation in the 2026 Club World Championship, set to be held in Poland this December.
Italy's Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia has officially confirmed its participation in the 2026 Club World Championship, which will be held in Poland this December.
Polish clubs have historically skipped the tournament due to its previous locations, travel costs, and packed schedules, but this year the event moves to Poland's Silesia region. Perugia, winners of the 2025 Club World Championship in Brazil and reigning Champions League champions, becomes the second confirmed team alongside host club Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. Polish national team player Kamil Semeniuk, who plays for Perugia, is expected to also feature at the tournament.
Only eight teams will take part in the Club World Championship. Group stage matches will be held in Katowice and Sosnowiec, with the finals in Częstochowa. The tournament runs from December 15 to 20. Alongside Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and Perugia, six more teams will join the field: two from South America (Brazil's Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei and Renata Vôlei, finalists of the continental championship), two from Asia (to be determined through the Asian Championship), one from Africa, and one more from the host country's TAURON Liga. The full field is expected to be confirmed over the coming months as qualification processes are completed.
