Serbia Coach Krecu Returns to Coach Asseco Resovia
Serbia coach George Krecu will return to Poland to lead Asseco Resovia for 2026-27, alongside his national team duties.
Serbia's national team head coach George Krecu has taken on a new club role, returning to Poland to lead Asseco Resovia for the 2026-27 season. It marks a return to familiar territory for the Romanian coach, who previously led the Rzeszów-based club during the 2018-19 season.
Resovia announced the veteran coach's return by highlighting his career achievements. Krecu reached the peak of his club career with ZAKSA in the 2021-22 season, winning the Champions League, the Polish league, and the Polish Cup. He has also made a strong mark internationally, leading Slovenia to bronze at the 2023 European Championship and being named the best coach in Europe in 2022.
Krecu will once again balance club and national team duties. He has led Serbia since early 2025, when he succeeded Igor Kolaković, and is currently preparing the team for the 2026 European Championship. Once his national team commitments conclude, he will return to Poland for his new term with Resovia.
