Slovenia Sweep Iran and Move Closer to Finals
Slovenia defeated Iran 3–0 for their eighth VNL win and moved closer to securing a place in the Finals in China.

Slovenia moved closer to securing a place in the 2026 Volleyball Nations League Finals with a 3–0 victory over Iran in Belgrade.
Fabio Soli’s team completed a 27–25, 25–19, 26–24 win to record their eighth victory in ten preliminary-round matches.
The opening set remained close until Slovenia converted their opportunity at 26–25. They controlled the second set more comfortably before recovering from a five-point deficit in the third.
Iran led 14–9, but Slovenia gradually reduced the gap. Rok Možič helped complete the comeback before the Europeans closed the match on their second match point.
Možič led all scorers with 19 points, while Niko Mujanović contributed 14. Rok Bračko added nine points and Sašo Štalekar finished with seven.
The victory placed Slovenia in a strong position to qualify for the eight-team Finals, which begin on July 29 in Ningbo, China.
Slovenia will return to the court against Türkiye in Belgrade on Saturday.
