Türkiye Sweep Serbia to Boost VNL Finals Hopes
Türkiye earned a straight-sets victory over Serbia (25-23, 25-19, 25-18) in Belgrade to begin Week 3 of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League.

Türkiye opened the third week of the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Nations League with a convincing 3-0 victory over Serbia in Belgrade, strengthening their push for a place at the Finals. Coached by Slobodan Kovač, Türkiye completed the win in just 80 minutes, taking the match 25-23, 25-19, 25-18.
The opening set remained close until the final stages, with Serbia briefly moving ahead at 20-19. Türkiye responded with strong defensive play, led by libero Berkay Bayraktar, before Adis Lagumdžija and Mirza Lagumdžija finished the set. The visitors carried that momentum into the second set, building an early lead through solid blocking and disciplined defense before extending their advantage to two sets.
Serbia showed signs of a comeback early in the third set, but Türkiye quickly regained control. A decisive scoring run sparked by Adis Lagumdžija created the separation needed, and the visitors comfortably closed out the match.
Adis Lagumdžija led all scorers with 18 points, while his brother Mirza added 13. For Serbia, Aleksandar Nedeljković finished with 11 points and Veljko Mašulović contributed 10. The defeat leaves Serbia with less room for error as they continue their campaign, with Ukraine next on the schedule in Belgrade.
