Brazil’s Men Face Continued International Struggles
Web Vôlei highlighted Brazil’s difficult run since 2023, including early World Championship elimination and their first failure to reach the VNL Finals.

Brazil’s men’s national team have experienced a difficult run of results across major international competitions since 2023.
According to an analysis published by Web Vôlei, the decline began with a 3–0 defeat to Argentina in the 2023 South American Championship final in Recife. That result ended Brazil’s long period of dominance in the competition.
At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Brazil recorded only one victory, beating Egypt 3–0. The team suffered another setback at the 2025 World Championship, where they were eliminated in the opening round and finished 17th among 32 teams.
The problems continued in the 2026 Volleyball Nations League. Brazil failed to reach the Finals for the first time since the competition was introduced.
There have also been disappointing results at youth level. Brazil finished tenth at the 2025 U21 World Championship, their lowest position in the tournament.
The series of results has increased concern about the direction of the national programme and the changes required for Brazil to return to the highest level.
