Slovenia sweeps Serbia 3-0 to reach the EuroVolley quarterfinals, where they will face Belgium next.
Slovenia advanced to the EuroVolley men's quarterfinals with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-22) sweep of Serbia in Turin, delivering a dominant performance before fending off a third-set comeback attempt.
Fabio Soli's team controlled the match from the start behind strong serving and blocking, with Jan Kozamernik and Alen Pajenk dominant at the net and Nik Mujanović a constant threat in attack and on serve. Slovenia won the first set 25-14 and extended their control in the second, building an early lead on the way to a 25-13 win. Serbia coach Gheorghe Crețu made multiple substitutions, but the team struggled to break Slovenia's rhythm.
Serbia found their footing in the third set, taking the lead for the first time and staying close through a tied 19-19 score, before Slovenia regained control and closed out the match 25-22.
Mujanović led all scorers with 14 points, Pajenk added 12, and Rok Možič finished with 11. Kozamernik contributed 10 points, including five blocks. Marko Ivović was Serbia's top scorer with eight points. The match also marked Klemen Čebulj's return to the Slovenian national team after more than two years away.
Slovenia will face Belgium in the quarterfinals.
